My priority is working with you and your child to improve their learning experience and outcomes. That may be:

Through specialist online literacy tuition, focusing on the fundamental building blocks of language; or bespoke English tuition (for both Primary and Secondary Students). Tuition will build their competence and confidence, allowing them to transfer literacy skills to their classroom learning.
Through a diagnostic assessment to uncover the underlying difficulties that underpin their child’s literacy struggles. This data can be shared with schools to support their classroom learning, and/or Access Arrangements.

English Tuition - Secondary Setting

Students’ learning can stall at secondary level.

With the onset of puberty emotions are exacerbated, and with the increased volume and challenge of learning, their progress may plateau. Ironically, this can disproportionately affect the most conscientious students, as they consider the ‘fault’ is with themselves rather than their challenging classroom environment.

Specialist Literacy Tuition

We are complex individuals and our interaction with learning is unique.

Their are many reasons why some students struggle to develop their literacy skills. Traditional teaching in many educational settings does not allow our teachers the time, or specialist expertise, to adapt lessons for children who particularly struggle with reading, writing and/or spelling.

Assessments

As a specialist teacher and professional assessor with a current APC (an assessment practising certificate) I can administer and provide a diagnostic report with suitable strategies to help them at school and at home.

As a qualified Assessor of Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access Arrangements, I am able to administer standardised tests to identify and evidence appropriate Access Arrangements. Find out more about diagnostic assessments for families and Access Arrangement Testing
